Life: Friend

Lauren Smith

We were brought together by our kids who have known each since they were only a few months old. My mother in law, Karen, actually knew her first and knew we would be friends. Emily was very involved in the community, playgroups, events and all fun things that were happening! She would always remind us of events and I hope to continue doing this for Matt and Jane. We loved having play dates and dinner dates, and did this a lot when Matt traveled. She loved to make us tacos and taught me to cut the kids pizza with the kitchen shears. Very handy trick that I have passed on to many. Emily always had cute little gifts for the kids and would always help me find the things I didn’t even know I needed. All the good deals! She was supportive and came to all our groups events, concerts and shows and loved sharing it all with Jane! I will always remember her smile, her love of onion dip without the yucky bits and pieces, and all the Xmas eves we spent together. She was so generous and always got us gifts even when we agreed and promised not too. I look forward to continue all these traditions because as it turns out best friends become your chosen family.
